According to German media, former Spanish footballer Xabi Alonso will lead Borussia Mönchengladbach next season. The periodicals Bild and Sport Bild informed about it, but the club has not confirmed it yet.

"We will not comment on this, we will contact you if we have anything to inform you about," the DPA agency quoted the opinion of Borussia, whose core player is also the Slovak representative László Bénes. He is currently a guest at FC Augsburg. The leadership of the Bundesliga must look for a replacement for Marc Rose, who announced in February that he would leave after this season. He should aim for the rival Borussie Dortmund. Alonso currently leads Real Sociedad San Sebastian's reserve, and has experience with German football when he served as Bayern Munich for three years.
