The German Football League (DFL) called on all 36 members of both the first and second leagues to adhere even more rigorously to high hygiene standards to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in a time of worsening pandemic.

DFL manager Christian Seifert and competition director Ansgar Schwenken addressed a letter to the club asking them to pay more attention to player behavior during the lockdown. "In light of the published figures and from abroad, our two competitions are still doing well during the short winter break. But even more care must be taken to adhere to the hygiene concept," DPA quoted the Kicker report as the letter.
