IFAB (International Football Association Board) announces that teams will have the opportunity to make up to five substitutions per match. IFAB, who follows the rules of the match, said that the teams will still have only three options to change during the ongoing match to avoid losing time. Therefore, if teams want to use five substitutions, they must make them during three breaks in the game.
IFAB also stated that match organizers may stop using VAR after a restart.
The law of additional substitutions was introduced after FIFA asked IFAB to implement this proposal with regard to the player's well-being.
The temporary amendment enters into force with immediate effect and was made because matches can be played in a shortened period in different weather conditions.
The decision on whether to apply this supplement is a forest for each individual league
