German footballer Mesut Özil does not plan to return to the Bundesliga or the national team. He ended his national team career in 2018, accusing officials of racism against himself.

"Once I set out, I will never return. I wish the German team every success, but I will never return," said the 32-year-old midfielder during the signing ceremony with Fenerbahce Istanbul. He came to Turkey after seven years at the London Arsenal. According to him, the team has fulfilled his dream and wants to help his new club to the league title. There are 22 matches left until the end of the competition and Fenerbahce is two points behind the Besiktas Istanbul in the table.
