Polish footballer Robert Lewandowski is one of three candidates for the award for Best Player according to the International Football Federation (FIFA). In addition to Bayern Munich's striker, FC Barcelona's Argentine Lionel Messi , who was looking forward to last year, and Cristiano Ronaldo 's Portuguese from Juventus Turin also have a chance at the trophy.

The winners will be announced during a virtual gala evening next Thursday.
