The European Football Union (UEFA) has launched proceedings against two Romanian referees in connection with a racist incident during the Champions League match between Paris St. Germain and Basaksehirom Istanbul.

"UEFA's investigation of the ethics and disciplinary inspector concluded that Sebastian Constantine Coltesco and Octavian Sovre could have violated Article 111 of the disciplinary rules," the DPA reports.

The duel between the French and Turkish champions had to be interrupted on December 8, 2020, after the fourth referee racistly insulted Basaksehira's assistant coach Pierre Webó. Both teams then left the field in protest. A day later, Paris won. Germain 5: 1.
