Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has launched an investigation into racist attacks on Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. They came to them during the European League match 2020/2021 on the ground of th Crvena zvezda Belgrade. According to the AP, UEFA has appointed its own investigator to deliver the report to the Disciplinary Board. However, she did not specify when to do so.
The CZ leadership apologized to Ibrahimovic last week after he became the target of insults from fans of the Serbian club on Thursday, February 18. The first duel of the sixteenth quarter was to be played without spectators.
The amateur video showed that domestic fans repeatedly frequented the Swedish gunner with Bosnian and Croatian roots insults with an ethnic undertone. Ibrahimovic did not start in the first match and watched him only from the bench.
The match ended in a 2: 2 draw. The match was to take place without spectators as part of measures against the spread of coronavirus. However, several fans of the home club got to the top of the stands, which were supposed to be reserved for officials.
