Qatari Emir Tamím bin Hamad Sání has officially opened the fourth stadium, where the matches of the final tournament of the World Cup 2022 in football will be played. The 40,000-seat Ahmad bin Ali Arena, built in Al Rayyan, will host seven championship matches.

The World Championships in Qatar will take place unconventionally in the winter period from November 21 to December 18, 2022 in a total of eight stadiums. 32 teams will present themselves, thirteen of them from Europe. From March to November next year, the Slovak national team will play ten qualifying matches against H-group opponents in Croatia, Russia, Slovenia, Cyprus and Malta.

The winners of the ten groups will advance to Qatar directly, the teams from the second places will fight for the remaining places in the playoffs.
