The late Argentine football player Diego Maradona will probably receive another honor.
After the stadium was named after him in Naples, his face also gets on the currency in his home country. Senator Norma Durango came up with the initiative to "decorate" a Maradona banknote with a maximum face value of 1,000 pesos (approximately 10 euros, ed. Note).
Maradona died on November 25 at the age of 60 of heart failure. According to the DPA, the banknote should capture the legendary second goal of the English at the 1986 World Cup, where he led Argentina to the title.
