Spanish football club Deportivo Alaves fired coach Pablo Machin on Tuesday. He thus became the fourth coaching "victim" in the current year of La Liga, resp. the second Tuesday, when they took the same step in SD Huesca.

The Basques informed about the dismissal of the head coach in an official communiqué. "The paths of Deportiva and Pablo Machin broke up. The club and the coach terminated the contract they concluded last August. Alaves thanks Pablo Machin and his assistant Jordi Balcells for their services and wishes them all the best for the future," the club said on the official website.

Alaves is without a victory in the past three league duels and ranks 16th in the table. He has four wins and 18 points, as well as the 17th Valladolid. It is two points from the descent zone. Machin, 48, replaced Juan Ramon Lopez Muniz in August 2020. In the past, he also led Girona and Espanyol Barcelona.
