Newcastle United's management is ready to make Mauricio Pochettino the third highest paid coach. With the Saudi consortium, they are ready to offer him £ 19 million.
The £ 300 million takeover bid from PCP Capital Partners, lead by Amanda Staveley and backed by the Saudi Royal Family Public Investment Fund, is on the verge of completion and could take place within two weeks. If the business takes place, changes and investments are expected to affect senior management as well.
According to SKY SPORT, the Argentine is the club's first choice, and the 19 million-year contract is expected to attract former Tottenham coach Steve Tyneside. The amount offered would move Pochettino to third place in terms of coaching, with only Diego Simeone of Atletico Madrid and Pep Guadriola of Manchester City boasting a higher annual income.
Pochettino's potential arrival to Newcastle could also have an impact on other major transfers that would follow the coach. "If the rumors are true and the club is looking for Mauricio Pochettino, it would be a great step for the whole team," said Betfair, an online bookmaker.
Current Newcastle coach Steve Bruce is likely to lead the team by the end of the season.
