The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has set August 20 as the deadline for the end of the season, with the new one starting on September 1.
The current season is suspended from mid-March due to a coronavirus pandemic, with FIGC planning to complete the first three divisions this year.
There are still 12 rounds and four unfinished matches from the 11th round left in Serie A. At the moment, Juventus, as the leader of the table with the number of 63 points, has risen to take the ninth title in a row. The federation also announced that if any of the three largest divisions were to restart and then stop again, a shorter play-off alternative would have to be proposed. In the event that even a play-off could not be completed, a coefficient system would be implemented.
Serie C is the biggest challenge for FIGC, as it includes 60 clubs divided into three regional groups, many of which are in a difficult financial situation.
