Kudela & Kamara banned
Ondrej Kudela has been handed a 10 match ban by UEFA after being found guilty of racially abusing Glen Kamara. The Rangers midfielder was also given a 3 match ban having been found guilty of assault.
Slavia Prague’s Ondřej Kúdela banned for ten UEFA club and representative team competition matches for racist behaviour. Includes the one-match provisional suspension served in last week’s EL quarter-final v Arsenal. Glen Kamara banned for three games for assaulting a player.

The incident took place in the second leg of the match between Rangers and Slavia Prague in which the Czech side went through 3-1 on aggregate. However, prior to the match’s conclusion, television pictures picked up clips of Kudela approaching Kamara and saying something whilst covering his mouth.
Kamara reacted, clearly upset, and soon after revealed what had happened.
Kamara explained to ITV News what happened during incident where he described how the Czech international had called him a ‘f****** monkey.’
‘He came over and said you’re a f***** monkey’
For the first time since the incident, Rangers’ Glen Kamara has spoken about the alleged racist abuse he was subjected to by Slavia Prague’s Oleg Kudela https://t.co/ezyQQ3nFpw pic.twitter.com/67GvPBj5WW

Kamara ban ‘ridiculous’
Since the announcement of the ban for both players, the reaction on social media has been one largely of anger and frustration regarding both punishments. Many feeling the ban to a player found guilty of racist abuse is not lengthy enough and a ban for Kamara out of context and insensitive to the situation.
So Kúdela is handed a 10 match ban by UEFA for racially abusing Glen Kamara.
Oh, and the victim also gets a three match ban because of his reaction 😳
Both decisions an absolute joke. Kúdela shouldn’t be allowed to play football ever again.

Ban for Kamara is ridiculous, 3 games for backing yourself after getting racially abused? I get it’s violent conduct but surely there’s mitigating circumstances? https://t.co/YTBLODSQhg

I’m guilty of this kind thinking as well. So many times you think to yourself “this is a chance for them to send a message” or “this is a chance for them to show how seriously they take it”
Only to be disappointed time and time again.
