Arsenal’s number 1 spot
Arsenal’s goalkeeping spot has come under significant scrutiny in the past season. Parting with fan-favourite Emi Martinez last summer, established no.1 Bernd Leno suffered some high-profile errors while the Argentine prospered at Aston Villa, and then with Argentina.

Arsenal’s supposed no.2, Runar Alex Runarsson, never inspired confidence between the posts and is seemingly on the verge of leaving the club after just one season.

This leaves Arsenal a man light in the goalkeeping department, and one of those sounded out over a potential move was Ajax’s Andre Onana.
Onana’s situation was complicated by his one year footballing ban, which he received in February and was reduced to nine months in June.

As a result, Arsenal cooled their interest, leaving Lyon free to make a move for the Cameroon star.
And it appears as though an agreement has been reached, with a fee of around 7 million euros being agreed upon, as per Goal.com writer Robin Bairner.

Arsenal, on the other hand, are rumoured to be making a move for Sheffield United’s Aaron Ramsdale.
BREAKING: Arsenal are lining up a £30m bid for Aaron Ramsdale.
The Gunners have made Sheffield Utd’s keeper their top target ahead of West Brom’s Sam Johnstone.
