Arsenal have this evening provided a fitness update on the club’s squad, ahead of their upcoming meeting with Fulham.

Gunners on song

Mikel Arteta’s men are set to return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners will welcome Scott Parker’s relegation battling Fulham to the Emirates, for a London derby showdown.

Arsenal of course head into the clash brimming with confidence, on the back of arguably their finest display of the campaign to date during the week.

A crunch Europa League meeting with Slavia Prague – in which the club’s campaign was essentially on the line – eventually saw the English heavyweights emerge with a dominant 4-0 win.

A 2nd successive victory on Sunday, meanwhile, would see Arsenal climb to within four points of the Premier League’s top-six.

Odegaard ruled out

As such, Mikel Arteta will no doubt be keen to see his side’s upturn in form remain very much alive, as the campaign’s conclusion inches ever closer.

The Gunners’ hopes of doing exactly that, though, will be hampered by the absence of a pair of key players tomorrow afternoon.

As confirmed in an official club statement a short time ago, both Martin Odegaard and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have been ruled out of Arsenal’s meeting with Fulham.

Norwegian midfielder Odegaard is continuing to struggle with an ankle problem:

Right ankle. Martin will be unavailable for Sunday’s match against Fulham, but is hoping to be back in light training next week.

Captain Aubameyang, meanwhile, was of course forced to sit out the north Londoners’ midweek meeting with Slavia after contracting malaria, with the Gabonese understandably still out of action as a result:

Auba continues to recover after contracting malaria on international duty. Auba will be unavailable for Sunday’s match and will continue to be supported and assessed by the medical team in the coming days.
