Chelsea head back to Seville tonight for the second leg of their Champions League Quarter Final.
They are 2-0 up in the tie, following Mason Mount’s and Ben Chilwell’s goals in last week’s ‘away’ leg of the tie. Tonight’s ‘home’ leg takes place in the same stadium and Chelsea know that a professional performance should see them through to the semi finals.
Thomas Tuchel told the press in his pre-match conference ahead of Chelsea’s tie with Porto tonight, that the club will make a late call on the fitness of N’Golo Kante.
🗣”We need to be careful about him.”

Speaking on Kante, Tuchel said;
“First of all, I was unbelievably happy when he came with us last week because I didn’t expect it.”
“He was confident enough to return earlier, to help us in the last 15 mins. But the downside of this situation was the he lost a little bit of sleep under the travel issues, had less work in training because he was sitting on the bench and only playing 20 minutes.”
“And the next day he suffered from travelling and could not train like he normally trains. We decided to play him from the bench against Palace but honestly, the decision I will make tomorrow morning when I see him in training then we will look at others and see how they feel.”

If Kovacic is out the game, then the need for Kante to partner Jorginho in the centre of midfield will increase.
