Gbamin backed by Ancelotti
Jean-Philippe Gbamin returned from injury recently having suffered serious continuous issues since arriving from Mainz.
The 25-year-old midfielder spoke of how current Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti had given him confidence during his rehabilitation.
“[Ancelotti] told me that when he was playing and he was young, he had two years without playing because of his knee,” Gbamin said.
“[He told me] to keep my head down and work hard for the comeback and after this, everything will make you stronger.
“[He said] you see football differently afterwards and if you work hard and you are serious then it can only [get better].”

Gbamin spoke of what he could offer Everton upon his return to first team action.
“I think I can offer something to the team and we have a great team with all good players,” the 25-year-old added.”
“If I can be a part of this team, then it will be amazing, so I will give everything on the pitch.”
However, it seems that his long wait was just to start over again.
Nightmare for Gbamin
Less than a week from his return, it has been confirmed that Gbamin has been injured again.
According to The Athletic, Gbamin suffered a ‘freak’ injury in training which is unrelated to his previous issues.
He has made just 3 appearances in an Everton shirt and it is expected that he could miss the rest of the season.
Everton are already without Abdoulaye Doucoure and Andre Gomes. Allan has only just returned from an injury himself.
Everton could be forced into calling up some young players to fill their bench for the trip to Brighton.
