Glenn Roeder, a former coach of the English football clubs West Ham, Newcastle and Watford, has died at the age of 65.
Roeder, who led England with head coach Glenn Hoddle at the 1998 World Cup, succumbed to a long brain tumor after a long battle. "Glenn was a modest, friendly, gentleman who was committed to football for the rest of his life," the AP quoted Howard Wilkinson, head of the League Coaches Association, as saying. The former defender wore a Newcastle and Queens Park Rangers jersey during his active career.
