An update on when we could see Harry Maguire featuring for England this summer has emerged online.
England vs Croatia
Euro 2020 is set to get underway later today, with the first tie to take place on Friday, June 11th at 8 PM UK time.
England will kick off their tournament two days later in a meeting with Croatia at Wembley.
The Three Lions have been drawn in Group D alongside their upcoming opponents, along with Scotland and the Czech Republic.
On paper, it looks as though Croatia, who beat England in the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup, are the nation’s toughest group stage opponent.
So, earning all three points this weekend would set Gareth Southgate and co. up nicely to go on to top the table.
Maguire to return vs Czech Republic?
Ahead of their first Euro 2020 game, as mentioned above, an update on Harry Maguire’s fitness has emerged.
The centre-back trained with England’s 26-man squad for the first time on Thursday as he continues his recovery from an ankle injury which saw him miss the end of the 2020/21 campaign for Manchester United.

This may have given some hope that we could see Maguire line out vs Croatia.
However, the Mirror are instead reporting that Maguire is targeting a return for England’s final group match, which takes place vs the Czech Republic on June 22nd.
As for his involvement vs Croatia, the Mirror write:
England defender Maguire is hoping not to have any setbacks but clearly lacks match fitness and is well short of being ready to face Croatia on Sunday and even Scotland the following Friday.
