A series of updates surrounding the efforts of Premier League outfit Leeds United on the transfer front have surfaced online on Thursday.

Blues starlet secured

The first centers on a confirmed arrival at Elland Road.

The player in question comes from an English top-flight rival, in the form of Chelsea.

His identity? Lewis Bate.

18-year-old midfielder Bate is a product of the famed youth system in west London, and had long stood as one of the most promising up and coming talents on Chelsea’s books.

Last year, for example saw the midfielder captain his long-time club in the finale of the 2020 FA Youth Cup, before making the step up to U23 level, with whom Bate managed a none too shabby 20 appearances.

In turn, it will no doubt come as a blow to the Pensioners faithful to hear that their side’s gifted youth product has today opted to move on.

Bate has made the move to Leeds for an undisclosed fee, putting pen to paper on a three-year deal in West Yorkshire, under the assumption that first-team opportunities will soon be forthcoming.

Gers man still in sights

As well as securing options for the future, though, Marcelo Bielsa is evidently also keen to add to his senior ranks for the season ahead.

Step up, Ryan Kent.

Rangers wide-man Kent is fresh off the back of another fine campaign at Ibrox, which saw him rack up an impressive 13 goals and 15 assists across all competitions.

Such production has seen Leeds’ boss firmly reignite his interest in luring the 24-year-old down south, to add to his options on the flank ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.

In turn, despite claims of late that Bielsa and co. had turned their attentions away from Kent and towards more attainable targets, it has on Thursday been assured that the Peacocks remain firmly in the hunt for his signature.

As per a report from The Mirror (as cited by the Daily Record), the Rangers star is one of a trio of wingers being closely watched by Leeds this summer.

The Whites, in turn, are expected to send scouts to watch Kent in action over the coming weeks, ahead of tabling a fresh bid for his signature.

Samp star eyed

Last up on our list of Leeds transfer updates on Thursday comes a potential addition to the club’s backline.

This comes with Bielsa and co. understood to be amongst a trio of Premier League clubs eyeing a move for Sampdoria star Omar Colley.

Colley, a 28-year-old central defender, has played a key role for the Blucherciati over the last couple of seasons, managing 28 Serie A starts last time out.

And his ever-impressive form appears to have piqued attentions in England, with the boards at all of Leeds, West Ham United and Newcastle United now ‘monitoring’ the Gambian’s situation, according to SampNews24.

Sampdoria, for their part, are understood to be open to a sale over the weeks ahead, to secure funds for reinvestment elsewhere in the club’s squad.

President Massimo Ferrero, though, will not allow for any discounts on his €10 million asking price.
