Leeds transfer news

In this article we will bring you all of today’s Leeds transfer news. Make sure to check back tomorrow for more updates.

Leeds interested in Man City midfielder

First up, Leeds United have been named as one of the clubs showing an interest in a Manchester City midfielder.

Yangel Herrera would  sign for the Sky Blues back in 2017. However, the now 23-year-old has never actually played a game for City.

He has instead be loaned out three times, including to New York City FC, who are a part of the City Football Group.

Herrea’s last campaign saw him score eight and assists two for La Liga outfit Granada.

Now though, the central midfielder has returned to City, who look to be eyeing a potential say.

As per the Sun:

MANCHESTER CITY could be set for another £20million windfall with Venezuela midfielder Yangel Herrera attracting Premier League interest.

Leeds, Southampton and West Ham are all credited with an interest in Herrera in the article.

Farid Boulaya’s agent speaks out

Another midfielder linked with the Peacocks in recent days has been Farid Boulaya.

The 28-year-old is currently plying his trade in Ligue 1 with Metz, who he scored six and assisted eight for in 33 league ties last term.

Boulaya spent much of 2020/21 playing as an attacking midfielder, but he can also play as a winger or up top.

Now, after his links to Leeds United, Boulaya’s agent has spoken out. However, the agent gave little away:

“All we can say at the moment is that we do not deny the links.”

Kristoffer Klaesson update

Elsewhere, Leeds look to be eyeing some reinforcements between the post following Kiko Casilla departing the club.

According to reports, Leeds sporting director Victor Orta has been chasing goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson for two years and the 20-year-old stopper has emerged as one of the candidates to replace Casilla.

And Jørgen Ingebrigtsen, Vålerenga’s sporting director, recently had this to say after been quizzed on Leeds’ interest in Klaesson:

“The best clubs, and the best environments, work long-term with player recruitment.

“There, Victor is one of the brightest in the subject. Leeds arrived on the field in the summer of 2019 and have been very good. We have had a good dialogue with them. They obviously saw something of Kristoffer early that they liked, and have been good at updating themselves on developments.”
