Spurs and Chelsea chase Inter Milan players

Inter Milan players have been interesting both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur this summer, with Achraf Hakimi allegedly a target for Thomas Tuchel before he signed for Paris Saint Germain.

In addition, Romelu Lukaku is thought to be an option if the club are unable to lure superstar forward Erling Haaland away from Borussia Dortmund, a feat that at present seems increasingly unlikely.

Chelsea are stepping up their plans to sign Romelu Lukaku this summer, with Erling Haaland 99% sure to stay at Dortmund.

For their part, Tottenham are said to remain interested in Milan Skriniar, who was also a target for Jose Mourinho.

Inter Milan CEO outlines transfer plans

At present, both deals appear dead in the water, but Inter Milan’s CEO took to Italian radio station radiocor to outline their summer plans, saying that:

“The objective is to cut the cost of the squad by 15-20 per cent, with a profit of €80m from the transfer market,”

At present, Achraf Hakimi has netted the club a cool 54 million pounds (62.5 million euros) according to transfermarkt.com, while Matteo Politano has joined Napoli for 17 million pounds (20 million euros).

However, the club have also spent approximately 20 million euros bringing in Matteo Darmian and Zinho Vanheusden from parma and Standard Leige respectively, while they are also linked with a move for Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin.

The deals currently done this done window, before any potential move for the Spaniard, leaves their current net profit at 57.2 million pounds (66.2 million euros), fourteen million euros below their target.

This fact could give clubs pursuing moves for the Italian club’s biggest assets a boost later in the window, and perhaps back the Nerazzurri into selling one of their key players.
