Bellingham continues to impress

The rise of Jude Bellingham has been both incredible to watch and completely unsurprising to those who had watched him at Birmingham City.

Such was his quality that Borussia Dortmund were willing to shell out 30 million pounds for his services when he was just 16 years old, while his former club retired his shirt number in his honour. High praise indeed.

He has not disappointed either, performing exceptionally in the Bundesliga and having started the season with one goal and two assists in his opening four German league games.

Capable of playing as a deep-lying midfielder, a box to box option or even as a creative midfielder in a pinch, Bellingham possesses all the assets to head straight to the very top, and cement his place in the England team as early as next summer.

Liverpool and Manchester City to go head-to-head for his services

With such scintillating performances, it is no surprise that the heavyweights of English football are chasing his signature already. According to one report, Liverpool are willing to smash their transfer record to land Bellingham, with an 80 million pound move in the works.

These links have since been dismissed as “premature”, although the Liverpool Echo reveal that “Liverpool have long been admirers of Bellingham”

However, if the Daily Mail is to be believed, the Reds will have a fight on their hands for the teenager, with Manchester City also now in the hunt for his signature.

Of course, talk of Bellingham moving could be premature, with Dortmund rarely letting two stars depart in one window, and Erling Haaland widely expected to depart the club next summer.

Bellingham, by contrast, is contracted to the club until 2025, and is under no pressure to move on quickly given his tender years.

Expect this transfer saga to rumble on as he continues to shine in Germany however.
