Premier League champions-in-waiting Manchester City have this evening been dealt a concerning blow on the personnel front.
Pensioners in front
Pep Guardiola’s men are of course currently locked in action with Chelsea, in the first of two FA Cup semi-final fixtures this weekend.
The clash marks a key one for the Sky Blues, who remain in the hunt for an unprecedented quadruple come the campaign’s end.
As things stand, however, City’s hopes of FA Cup glory hand by a thread.
This comes with the Manchester giants trailing Chelsea by a goal to nil, after Hakim Ziyech opened the evening’s scoring at Wembley shortly before the hour mark.
A fine move down the left eventually resulted in Timo Werner squaring for the unmarked Ziyech to slot home into an empty net:

The woes of Guardiola and co., however, as outlined above, have not been restricted to just the scoreline.
This comes with the Citizens having also been dealt a potentially serious blow on the personnel front.
Early in the 2nd-half in the capital, a challenge between N’Golo Kante and Kevin De Bruyne saw the latter come off worse, immediately going to ground with what appeared to be an ankle problem.
In turn, after being tended to by City’s medical team, it was quickly decided that De Bruyne was in no condition to continue, forcing the Belgian off to be replaced by Phil Foden.
48. Kev makes way for @PhilFoden… let’s hope the Belgian is okay! 🤞
