Man United’s pre-season

Manchester United have so far played out three pre-season friendlies this summer.

The Red Devils kicked off their preparation for the 2021/22 campaign with a 2-1 win over Wayne Rooney’s Derby Couny.

United then faced off with QPR on July 24th but would lose the tie 4-2 thanks to goals from Charlie Austin, Moses Odbubajo and a brace from Lyndon Dykes.

A fairly weak Manchester United side then host Premier League new boys Brentford last Wednesday and were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw. Anthony Elanga and Andreas Pereira were on the scoresheet that night for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

Wan-Bissaka injured

In all three of those games, a lot of Man United’s big hitters have been absent due to their international commitments over the summer, including the likes of Paul Pogba, Luke Shaw, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford.

One constant in all three games, though, had been Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The Englishman was United’s only really top-quality right-back last campaign and would play a staggering 54 games across all competitions for the Manchester powerhouse.

Yet despite him starting vs Derby, QPR and Brentford, Aaron Wan-Bissaka does appear to be nursing an injury ahead of the new season.

ESPN ran a story confirming Wan-Bissaka has an injury issue, but provided no details as to what the problem actually was.

Instead, they wrote that:

Manchester United are hopeful of having Aaron Wan-Bissaka available for the start of the new season despite the defender picking up an injury

It is added that the full-back has been passed fit to travel to United’s pre-season camp in Scotland, but has been given an individual training program – suggesting that whatever the problem is, it is not too serious.
