Leeds thoroughly beaten
A horror injury to Harvey Elliot overshadowed what turned into a comfortable victory for Liverpool at Elland Road, as Leeds United slumped to their second defeat of the season.

At 2-0 down, a red card to Pascal Struijk following a challenge on Elliot, where a trailing leg caught the youngster ended any hopes of Marcelo Bielsa’s side from getting back into the game, and a late goal from Sadio Mane proved to be the icing on the cake for the visitors.
This defeat leaves Leeds in 17th place in the Premier League table, with the side yet to win a game this season and having shipped 11 goals on their way to two draws and two defeats. After such a strong showing last season, there will be little fear of relegation just yet, but points need to be put on the board, and soon.
Worse still, there could yet be more bad news for the Yorkshire faithful.
Patrick Bamford caught admitting injury worry on phone-in show
Appearing on 5 Live’s 606 football phone-in show, Patrick Bamford was ostensibly on to discuss the defeat to Liverpool with Juliet Ferrington, and the interview consisted of analysing the game for the most part.
Sharp-eared listeners, however, picked up on an altogether more worrying theme of the interview, coming in the form of Patrick Bamford discussing a potential injury concern.
Just before answering the first question (around 9 mins 50 seconds), Bamford can be heard saying:
“My hamstring is pinging”
This does not sound like good news for Leeds fans, who have a trip to St James’ Park to take on Newcastle just three days away at time of writing. With the revelation made by Bamford, could he be set to miss the trip to the northeast?
