Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has taken to Instagram to explain his absence and illness as he misses out on Arsenal’s vital clash with Slavia Prague tonight in the Europa League.
The Gabon striker has released a picture of himself in hospital with a note that reads;
“Hey guys, thanks for all the messages and calls. Unfortunately I contracted Malaria whilst being on national team duty in Gabon a few weeks ago. I’ve spent a few days in hospital this week but I’m already feeling much better every day, thanks to the great doctors that detected and treated the virus so quickly. I wasn’t really feeling myself the last couple of weeks but will back stronger than ever soon. Will be watching my boys now, huge game for us! Let’s go and get it Arsenal.

Whilst he has not been in the best of form this season, Mikel Arteta would no doubt rather have his main man available for tonight’s must win game.
Alexander Lacazette starts in his place again and Gabriel Martinelli is on the bench for Arsenal.

Should Arsenal emerge victorious tonight then they could face their former manager Unai Emery in the semi finals.
His Villarreal side hold a 1-0 lead and an away goal over Dinamo Zagreb.
“We know how Dinamo Zagreb like to play and if you let them link up or hit you on the counter, where they’re quick, they can do you damage.” Emery said.
Dinamo coach Damir Krxnar said of his team, “We still have a realistic chance, the recipe is how we played in the first half. I think we are still in the tie.”
