‘Foden’ calls out Mbappe
Manchester City would face off with Borussia Dortmund in the second of two Champions League quarter-final ties on Wednesday.
City headed into the second leg boasting a 2-1 lead and no doubt confident of ending their quarter-final curse.
And, despite BVB taking the lead on Wednesday, the Manchester powerhouse eventually came away with a 2-1 win on the night to book their spot in the semi-finals.
Pep Guardiola’s side have been drawn against PSG in the last-four after Mauricio Pochettino’s side saw off a weakened Bayern Munich in the quarters.
Following City’s win, Foden’s Twitter account tweeted out a message to PSG’s Kylian Mbappe with the captain ‘are you ready’.
Foden fires social media team
It was then reported that it was not Foden who tweeted that, with people close to the player not believed to be too happy with the situation:
Foden didn’t post that Mbappe tweet himself, it was done by the company that manage his account. People close to Foden not particularly happy about it and it’s been deleted

Now, as reported by the Telegraph, Foden has decided to part ways with the social media company that ran his Twitter account.
It is added that the midfielder and his representatives were disappointed by the tweet, which was posted without the player’s approval and then deleted:

The company who posted the tweet, however, have now released a statement claiming the post, like all others, was approved before it was sent:
