Tottenham linked with Lloris replacements

Hugo Lloris joined Spurs in 2012 from French outfit Lyon, for a fee believed to be around £11m.

The Frenchman has since gone on to enjoy a solid career in north London.

All told, Lloris has notched 356 appearances in all competitions for the Lilywhites.

Across these outings, Lloris has managed to keep 120 clean sheets, whilst conceding 394.

At present, though, the 34-year-old’s long-term future in north London has appeared to be somewhat up in the air.

Lloris’ current contract only runs until 2022. So, if Spurs do not want to offer him a new deal but want to recoup some money for him, selling him in the summer when he still has a year left makes the most sense.

Such uncertainty around Lloris’ future has seen several keepers linked with the Lilywhites. It was reported in February that Tottenham will target Nick Pope to replace Lloris if he leaves this summer.

Last month then saw all of Pope, Dean Henderson and Sam Johnstone as potential Lloris successors.

Tottenham’s goalkeeping situation

Now, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided a fresh update on Spurs’ goalkeeping situation.

According to Romano, the north Londoners will make a decision regarding their keeper situation a the end of 2020/21, with it added that Lloris is waiting and nothing has been decided on his future.

Romano then dismissed rumours that former Arsenal keeper Wojciech Szczesny could move to Spurs, insisting there has been no talk with Juventus or the player’s agent:
