West Ham see off Leicester

West Ham played host to Leicester City on Sunday afternoon as they looked to regain a spot in the Premier League top-four.

The Hammers climbed into the Champions League places on Monday after seeing of Wolves, but were knocked down to 5th on Saturday after Chelsea smashed Crystal Palace.

A win against Leicester, though, would once again see David Moyes and co. move back into the top-four and to within a single point of the Foxes.

And secure the three points is exactly what the London-based outfit managed. It would once again be Jesse Lingard who was at the heart of everything positive on Sunday.

The Manchester United loanee netted twice in the first 45, with his opening strike particularly impressive.

Who else?! ⚒️

Jesse Lingard is on fire! 🔥 He puts West Ham ahead with a clever finish.

Lingard then found Tomas Soucek, who set up Jarrod Bowen for West Ham’s third of the day just 48 minutes in:

THE HAMMERS ARE FLYING! 🛫

Bowen adds a third and West Ham are dreaming of Champions League football 🤩

Kelechi Iheanacho did pull two back for the Foxes late on but it was nothing more than a consolation goal.

Aaron Creswell injury blow

On an otherwise positive afternoon for West Ham, they would suffer a big blow on the personnel front.

Both Michail Antonio and Declan Rice are currently sidelined for the Hammers with what look to be fairly lengthy injuries.

Then, early in the second half at the London Stadium, Creswell was forced off after going down twice with what appeared to be a hamstring issue.

No clean sheet… hamstring problem.
