Cesare Prandelli resigned as Fiorentina football coach on Tuesday. He cited the darkness that struck his insides and influenced his decisions.

Fiorentina is located on the 14th rung of Serie A, seven points above the descent line. Prandelli joined the club in November and replaced the dismissed Giuseppe Iachini.

It was his second engagement with the Tuscan team, having previously sat on Fiorentina's bench in 2005-2010 and brought her to the UEFA Cup semifinals and the Champions League round of 16. "Over the past months, darkness has grown inside me that has changed my view of the world. I have come here to give this club 100 percent, but I feel it is no longer possible.

For the good of all, I have decided to resign," he said. Prandelli in a letter published by Fiorentina on the official website. "We accepted this decision with great sadness. We understand that the reasons behind it are non-football," the club's management added to the situation, according to the AP. The name of the new coach has not been published by Serie A yet.
