Chelsea want Aguero
The future of Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has been of much discussion ever since he announced that he would be leaving the club at the end of the season when his contract expires.
Many clubs have thrown their names into the ring, reportedly including the likes of Barcelona, Juventus and PSG.
However, it turns out that Chelsea are one of the leading candidates for the Argentine’s signature. Described as ‘winning the arm wrestle’ by top Argentinian source TyC as they search for competition for out of form Timo Werner.
The German signed from RB Leipzig has been unable to replicate the same form which set him apart in the Bundesliga and many times this season both Frank Lampard and now coach Thomas Tuchel have opted for Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham over Werner.

With Giroud’s contract expiring this summer and Abraham’s future uncertain, the arrival of Aguero would represent a savvy piece of business by the Blues.
Tuchel explains Werner drop
Thomas Tuchel decided to drop Timo Werner for the match against Crystal Palace yesterday in place of former Bayer Leverkusen forward Kai Havertz. Like Werner, Havertz has struggled for form this season along with Christian Pulisic and the American moved into a more central role.
Both Havertz and Pulisic scored in the 4-1 away win.
Tuchel explained his decision after the match.
“It’s to do with form and work-rate,” said Tuchel.

“With Timo, we are close to overusing him and there’s no point in doing that. Christian is in good form so I want to have the competition for the position.
“We haven’t made many changes in formation or individual positions but we hope Christian can show up and challenge in an offensive formation.”
Chelsea now rise to 4th in the table, two points above Liverpool but could yet be overtaken by West Ham should the Hammers beat Leicester this afternoon.
