GENT - Two fans of FC Liverpool will not forget about Wednesday's trip during which they were supposed to go to encourage their team to play the 3rd round of the Champions League football in Genk, Belgium. They found themselves in another Belgian city - Ghent.

Genk lies between Antwerp and Liége towards the German border, Ghent is situated between Brussels and Bruges towards the coast. Both clubs are among the top Belgian leagues, but their names have also caused problems for the SSC Naples club, which, following the LM group stage, said on Twitter that its footballers would meet Ghent instead of Genk. Finally, two fans of Liverpool also had a big problem.

Both bought tickets to Genk in advance, Liverpool triumphed in the match 4: 1. Supporters of "The Reds", however, watched the match in the Irish pub in Ghent. They found themselves in a completely different city, about half an hour before the kickoff, when it was no longer possible to catch the match in another city. Ghent and Genk are 150 kilometers apart, which is about a two-hour drive.

A curious event came to the attention of officials in a club from Ghent, who a day later played a match in the European League against Wolfsburg. "We wanted to do something for them. So we offered them tickets for our match, but they went home to England before," said Patrick Lips, Ghent's media manager for Radio 2. They also offered them another option:

"We will invite them when Gent and Genk meet in the Belgian league in January. We will accept them as guests of honor, arrange tours of the stadium, dinner and places of honor. We will ensure that they can return to England as true VIP guests and not as now , "Lips added. The whole trip cost both the British about 233 euros per person, for one football ticket they paid 74 euros.
