Liverpool winger Luis Diaz has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season.
According to a report from the Spanish publication SPORT, Barcelona are interested in signing the 27-year-old Colombian international at the end of the season and the player would be open to joining them as well.
However, Liverpool will make it very difficult for Barcelona to get the deal done and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
The Colombian is undoubtedly an important first-team player for Liverpool and they will not want to lose him this summer. Liverpool are already parting with Jurgen Klopp and they will need to bring a quality manager to replace the German. They will not want to weaken the playing squad as well.
Diaz has 13 goals and four assists in all competitions this season and he would be a quality addition to the Barcelona attack. He is versatile enough to operate on either flank and he would have added goals and creativity going forward. His ability to take on defenders and create goalscoring opportunities in tight areas could have made him an asset for the Spanish club.

It will be interesting to see if Barcelona decide to test Liverpool’s resolve with an official proposal at the end of the season. The winger has a contract at Anfield until the summer of 2027 and Liverpool are under no pressure to sell him just yet. They are likely to demand a premium if Barcelona come calling at the end of the season.
Barcelona had to pay a substantial amount of money for Philippe Coutinho when they signed the Brazilian from Liverpool a few years ago, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Reds demanded a similar fee for the Colombian as well.
