Exclusive: Chelsea yet to decide on summer centre-back transfer following January interest, says expert

Chelsea are yet to make a final decision on potentially allowing Benoit Badiashile to leave the club in the summer transfer window following January interest from AC Milan.
That’s according to transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano, who says he’s unsure if the Blues will definitely be ready to let Badiashile go, while it’s also too early for him to say if Milan will come back in for the Frenchman after they considered him during the winter window.
Badiashile hasn’t really lived up to expectations since joining Chelsea from Monaco, despite looking like an exciting purchase when he first joined, though of course the 23-year-old is still young enough to turn his career around.
It remains to be seen if he can do that at Chelsea, or if he gets a move to somewhere like Milan to try to make a fresh start this summer.
For now, Romano insists it’s too early to know for sure what will happen with Badiashile this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Sportjudgesp> “Also Chelsea have not made any decision on Badiashile so far. We have to see in the summer for this, nothing is really happening now.” Milan have done well to raid some unwanted Chelsea players in recent times, with the likes of Fikayo Tomori, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Christian Pulisic and Olivier Giroud all doing well after swapping Stamford Bridge for the San Siro.
